Microsoft Teams Integration - Connecting calendars requires admin approval

Last updated: December 11, 2025

You can connect your Outlook calendar to the Softphone to have the Devyce Notetaker automatically join your meetings.

See📄 Teams Integration for details on how to do this. Depending on your Microsoft configuration some users will see that a Microsoft admin has to approve the integration. There are two ways this can be done in one of two ways:

  • Getting an admin to connect first

  • Following the admin approval flow

Getting an admin to connect first (the easy way)

The easy way is to have an admin connect the integration first. They will see a screen like my screenshot here and they need to make sure "Consent on behalf of your organization" is checked. This won't connect anyone else's calendar, but it will then let non-admins connect their calendar afterwards:

Following the admin approval flow (the hard way)

This might be required if e.g. no Devyce users are Microsoft admins or if you have separate admin accounts which don't have MS365 licenses and therefore no calendar which means the request for calendar permissions will not work.

First you need to check that users can request admin approval (this is disabled by default in EntraID tenants) by going to https://entra.microsoft.com → Enterprise Apps → Consent and permissions → Admin consent settings. You must enable "Users can request admin consent to apps they are unable to connect to" and you'll need to select a user, group or role who can approve the requests:

Once this is done, any user trying to connect their calendar will have the ability to request admin approval:

After a user has requested access then the user/group/roles who were chosen to review requests can go to EntraID → Enterprise Apps → Admin consent requests and approve the request:

Once this is done all users in the organization should be able to connect their calendars without issues.

If desired "Users can request admin consent to apps they are unable to connect to" can now be disabled again.
